Bonjour! Day two in Paris was filled with a lot of walking, sightseeing and fun! The morning started out as we walked across the street from our hotel to grab my first French croissant (with chocolate of course)!
Then we took a stroll to the Arc de Triomphe! We took an underground tunnel underneath the street to reach it. The Arc stood at the end of the Champs-Elysees street full of high-end shopping and elegant restaurants. We walked down the street and did some shopping, but not too much damage was done.
I had to splurge for the infamous Laduree Macroons! There was so many different flavors, and they just melted in my mouth! So worth the wait! I got three and they were gone in seconds!

We followed Champs-Elysees to the very end and passed Point Alexandre III on our way to the Hotel des Invalides, which houses Napoleon's tomb and also has some military exhibits. By the way, Joseph Napoleon I's is not the REAL Napoleon. I found this out as I was taking many pictures of his tomb to then find out that it was not the "real" Napoleon.
Napoleon's Tomb (it was huge for such a little guy!)
After our long journey, we stopped at the store to buy picnic supplies and took them to the Eiffel Tower to have a picnic! We people watched for awhile aka rested our legs and did shopping souvenir shopping, then it was off to climb the Eiffel Tower. We walked the steps to the first and second level and then took a lift to the very top! It was gorgeous!! It beat all the towers I've been on!
We came back to the hotel exhausted and sweaty! It is SO hot here! Then Scott and I went to grab some dinner. Well, I had Creme Brulee for dinner to celebrate our hike up the Eiffel Tower.
I'm exhausted! Off to bed! Happy Birthday Marilee!!
Three Things I Learned Today:
1. I'm dehydrated.
2. There are 1060 steps to the second level of the Eiffel Tower.
3. There are many Napoleons.
